Yes, but we suggest trading business cards instead. Multiple CDs and press kits tend to become too bulky to carry. A&R representatives tend to not want to collect items while they are out.

Following the panel, these professionals often engage in one on one conversation with those in attendance to answer any personal question that may not have been covered during the panel itself.

What are the panel titles? Who are the panelists?
Panel titles, descriptions, times, and panelists will be posted here as soon as they are determined.

How do I become a panelist?
In order to be considered as a panelist, please contact our panelist coordinator.

Artist Submission

Why should my band/artist submit to Atlantis?
Showcasing yourself or your group provides the opportunity to let your music speak for itself to the music enthusiast and industry representatives in attendance. Whether you are resume' building, gig swapping or actively seeking a manager, producer, lawyer, agent or label deal, a showcase is the best way to show your abilities to those you want on your team.

What is the artist submission deadline?
The deadline for artist submission is Thursday, May 1st, 2008. All packages must be postmarked by this date.

How do I submit as an Artist?
Artists can submit either online if they are SonicBids members, or by mail.

What is a press kit?
Please click here for a detailed description.

What if I don't have a website?
That's okay. Just leave this part blank. We like to list artist websites in our on-line directory of accepted artists.

What if my genre of music is not listed?
Be as general as possible. Note that Pop, Punk, and Rock will fall under the box labeled, Rock whereas Funk, Neo-Soul, and Hip-Hop are will fall under the box labeled, Urban. If you still cannot define in any way, shape, or form, then check the box labeled, other and be precise.

Do I need to be associated with a Booking Agent, Manager, or Lawyer in order to submit an Artist Submission?
No, you do not need to have any of these to be able to submit. We simply like to have the information if it is available. If you do not have these associations, Atlantis is the place to network and meet these kinds of people.

Do I need to be affiliated with any sort of record label (major/indie) or Performing Rights Organization to be able to submit?
No, affiliation from either is not required. In fact, our main purpose is to promote unsigned acts. With out these types, our conference would not exist. Again, we ask solely for information purposes.

What do I receive if I choose the Critique option on the submission form?
This is an opportunity for the artist to have their works reviewed by, depending on the genre, the appropriate committee chairperson. The Critique will be a typed one to two-paragraph analysis that is mailed out to the artist.

How will I know if my package has been received?
You should receive a confirmation from the Atlantis offices within two weeks after we receive your complete package and payment. This confirmation is sent by email to the address provided on the submission form. If no email is specified, we will send confirmation by postal mail.

What is the selection process?
Once your package has been received and processed, it goes on to our listening committee which is made up of various astute industry professionals. Here it is evaluated through several rounds of listening and determined to be accepted
or rejected.

How many artists are accepted to showcase during the conference?
This number varies from year to year, but the average is approximately 250 artists.
